Oh dear. I'm doing that thing with netflix again where the bright red envelopes sit around for 4-6 weeks while I never get around to watching what's inside. Okay, so the 1-at-a-time $8.99 plan makes more sense (with unlimited watch instantly).

spn_summergen is done and off to beta. I'm a little bit excited. *poker face is very poker faced*

You can tell you've written a lot of fics in one fandom when you completely misplace one of them, and don't realize that you have for a while. So I should probably re-post that soon (it was posted at another comm and never archived here).

Which means that excluding drabbles, and counting ficlets in addition to longer stories, The syntax of things was my 100th Supernatural fic.

I don't know if this is an \o/ or a O.o situation. I can quit any time I want to!

Also, I really appreciate that people actually read and leave such lovely feedback. <3

My god, everything sucks and I'm cranky and it is RAINING AGAIN @#%&^&# and I'm tired of being a grown-up.

But there's a sneak preview of the new season of Leverage.

Which I have my doubts about embedding properly, so here is the link. It is spoilery, in that it gives away the premise of an episode and a few details of hilarity you might rather just be surprised by later.

I don't think it's a spoiler to say *\o/* Team Leverage. And Parker! There is Parkerness, and Aldis Hodge has BECOME EXPONENTIALLY HOTTER.

There's also this season 1 official recap, which is somewhat spoilery for S1 if you haven't watched yet but if you're not spoilerphobic it'll give you a good idea of what people are going on about and if you have already watched, the vid is a really fun reminder.

a/n: This fic references one particular piece of fanon from one of my prior stories (The Boy's Still Running), but you don't have to have read that to read this. Some of the concepts here about Castiel's vessel and how angels work are the collective brainchild of smilla02, aesc, and dotfic. Oh, also, we blame Misha Collins (for so many things). Title from e.e. cummings.

Summary: After the events of "Lucifer Rising," Sam and Dean take refuge at Bobby's, where the boys start to learn to be brothers again while they plan their next move. Chuck shows up with an injured Castiel, forcing Dean to deal with his conflicted feelings. Meanwhile, the apocalypse has started, the death count is rising, and Lucifer is determined to get at Sam. But hiding only works for so long.

( It was two weeks since St. Mary's, and back at the house, the dogs had been restless, sniffing the wind and growling. )

Anyway, even though I'm not posting much right now, I'm keeping up with my flist and puttering around fandom. Today I was the gen guest-reccer at sawedoff_recs, and you can find some fresh recs from me here, stories I haven't recced anywhere else yet (except for having them bookmarked on delicious). Hope you enjoy!

While we're on the subject, check out fryadvocate's big bang story Dead Soldiers: An oral history of the end times (Gen, R). Multiple outsider pov's on the Winchesters and what really happened with the apocalypse. It's fantastic. The voices are so well done, and it not only has some gutwrenching Sam and Dean stuff, but the supportings (especially Ellen and Jo) get some interesting play as well. There's gorgeous artwork by nebst too.

( The bruise on Dean's arm was still pale; in a day or so it would darken, then fade to yellow. Dean acted like it was no big deal. But Sam always felt the same heaviness in his stomach, the same wish that maybe they could stop. )

The Dean/Castiel and Dean&Sam and a bunch of other characters fic of dooooom appears to be done. *beams*

Except for the massive rewriting, the beta-reading, the further rewriting, the scenes I need to add and the scenes that should probably be cut but it otherwise exists as a rough draft.

Feel silly now, since I did produce a big bang fic in what, for me, was a short time frame. But when big bang was signing up, writing was a massive struggle and I am still very leery of deadlines so I had to do this outside of a challenge environment.

There is a reference in here to the SPN casting call spoiler. Otherwise no Season 5 spoilers. (And I am trying so hard to go spoiler free and failed already, haha.)

Oh god, I'm rewatching episodes I haven't seen in *years* and remembering the epic epic love I had for that show (yet for some reason I never engaged with the fandom). Yeah, so no, that obsession didn't go away, it went *dormant* and was LURKING, waiting its chance to return. Oh dear. *weak smile*

*Got my spn_summergen assignment. More than one of my prompts is something I would inevitably go for. Decisions, decisions.
-If you were assigned my prompts, if you're writing Sam and Dean, I'd love it if they could be at least a little happy. I'm a sucker for angst, but only so much. While my attachment to Dean is no secret, my love of Sam is epic and I think they're both equally awesome and equally flawed. John is so complicated I don't even know what to do with him, but I have trouble seeing him in absolute terms. I adore SPN's supporting characters. I am excessively fond of banter.

Speaking of supporting characters, maychorian tagged me to do that character questions meme a while ago, for Agent Victor Henriksen on Supernatural, and I didn't get to it before now even though I barely need an excuse to babble about Victor. Since Charles Malik Whitfield was at Asylum this weekend, I thought I'd give the character a little long overdue attention.
